In:Design - A New Kitchen

Michael and Heather came in looking for a mostly white kitchen with gray as a secondary color. After viewing some carrara/marble looking quartz options for their countertops, they fell in love with the idea of the Super White quartzite. Unfortunately, we had run into some difficulty when finding the perfect slab of this material. At that time, the lots were coming in with gold veins and a beige marble effect in some areas. We finally found the perfect lot from one of our distributers in their brand new shipment of Super White Extra.

After templating the kitchen and finding the perfect positioning on the slab for their large island, it was time to find a fantastic, coordinating backsplash tile. We looked at some various grey subway tiles in ceramic and glass, but the winning ticket was the Marble Systems Inc. 3x6 honed Thassos marble with a beveled edge. The beveled edge gave it a great 3D effect which really emphasized the light grey grout we used to set the backsplash. With a coordinating straight bevel edge treatment on the countertops, the backsplash was a perfect partner in the final outcome of this kitchen. I think the customer's choice in the light aqua walls was the perfect amount of color to add to this gray and white vision.
